After the ruins of Coba, we went to our first cenote of the trip. There are three options about 6 km from ruins: Choo-Ha that is especially good for kids because it is more shallow, Tamcach-Ha is the most popular with a tower to jump off, and Multun-Ha which is supposed to be best for snorkeling. We chose Multun-Ha and loved it.

There are little stalls to change in, and the attendants hand out life jackets, but they are not required. The cenote is accessed through a stairwell down into an underground cave and it is completely enclosed. The water inside is crystal clear, and in some spots goes down 90 or so feet.
